At Bernese Mountain Kennel, Your Puppy’s Health Comes First

At Bernese Mountain Kennel, we put the health, happiness, and well-being of every puppy we raise above all else. Every puppy in our care is home-raised, socialized, and carefully vet-checked to ensure they thrive in their new loving families.

Our comprehensive Health Guarantee reflects our commitment to responsible breeding, transparency, and lifelong support for our adoptive families.

Our Health Guarantee Includes:

Genetic Health Warranty
All puppies come from health-tested parents screened for common hereditary conditions affecting Bernese Mountain Dogs. Each puppy is fully vet-checked before going home.
Vaccinations & Deworming
Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, thorough veterinary exams, and deworming treatments before adoption.
30-Day Health Assurance
If a licensed veterinarian detects a life-threatening congenital or hereditary condition within 30 days of adoption, we will provide a replacement puppy or a partial refund (terms apply).
1-Year Congenital Health Guarantee
We stand behind our puppies. Our 1-year guarantee covers genetic or congenital conditions that may affect your puppy’s quality of life during the first year.
Lifetime Support
We provide ongoing guidance on nutrition, grooming, health care, and behavior, helping your Bernese Mountain Dog grow into a happy, healthy, and well-adjusted companion.

In the Unfortunate Event of a Debilitating Condition

Veterinary Examination
Your puppy should be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival. This ensures your puppy’s health is documented immediately.
Notification

If your veterinarian diagnoses a congenital or hereditary condition, please notify us in writing (email or registered mail) within 10 days, including the veterinarian’s detailed report, diagnostic results, and confirmation that the condition is congenital or hereditary.
Second Veterinary Opinion (if needed)
We may request a second opinion from a veterinarian of our choice to confirm the diagnosis. The examination is at your expense.
Our Options if Condition is Confirmed
1️⃣ Replacement Puppy
A puppy of comparable breed, sex, and quality from the next available litter. The original puppy may need to be returned with registration papers and health records, at the owner’s expense.
2️⃣ Partial Refund
If a replacement puppy is not desired or available, a partial refund of the purchase price may be issued, based on the severity of the condition.

Conditions and Exclusions:

Routine veterinary care, booster vaccinations, deworming, parasite control, or minor illnesses are not covered.

Conditions caused by accidents, neglect, improper care, or preventable issues are excluded.

Early spaying or neutering (before 6 months) can void the guarantee unless medically necessary and documented.

The guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.

Minor breed-related issues that do not affect mobility or overall quality of life are not covered.

Veterinary costs incurred outside of confirmed debilitating conditions are the responsibility of the owner.
